The key ingredients to Event Broadcasting

Live Streaming is quickly becoming a popular way of broadcasting events to your audience and the number of streams each year is increasing… According to Livestream ”81% of internet and mobile audiences watched more live video in 2016 than in 2015”.. and that was two years ago! This is a trend that is only heading up, and if you are not taking advantage of it yet, it might be time to get started.

Here we share with you our key ingredients for event broadcasting – perfect if you are thinking of incorporating broadcasting into your next event.

  1. Logo

It is beneficial to have your logo on your live stream as attendees may share your video. Have a holding slide before your stream starts and a custom overlay to promote your brand. (This means your logo / business will be exposed to more people – let our attendees be your advocates!)

  1. Good Internet Connection

Whilst this seems obvious you’d be surprised how many poor quality streams are played every day! Ensure your internet connection is strong enough to broadcast your event to your audience. We recommend using a clean dedicated line where possible. The more people that use the network the slower your stream will be – it can even drop out!

  1. Correct Equipment

Having the correct equipment and software is vital. Streaming technology gets better all the time, the latest encoders and webcast software is constantly adapting to improve the overall experience. If you don’t have the right equipment, your event can’t be broadcast… or you could just ask us and we will provide all the equipment you need as well as live streaming your whole event for you!

  1. Urgency

Make sure your audience know your event is a watch-it-or-miss-it event. Have a countdown before your stream starts and re-affirm the live element of it. Facebook Live has this feature built in. If you announce it as a unique experience that won’t be repeated again, it will create a sense of urgency for your audience.

How exactly does event broadcasting work?

But why should you consider live streaming?

Bigger Audience
You want to host an event with thousands of potential attendees but half of your audience can’t make it? Live streaming is your answer! It allows people all over the world to watch your event remotely. You can also have access to audience insights and statistics which allows you extra data following your event.

Online Interaction
Live streaming allows your audience to add comments and interact with you without attending the event. These comments can be read during the event and answered or you may read them once the stream has ended. Audiences like to feel involved and including their opinion and responding to them is more engaging. Some people may even find it easier commenting online than in the physical forum of a live event.

Stand out
Live streaming can help your business to stand out. Not only will you have the potential for your live stream to be shared worldwide but perhaps your competitors are not broadcasting events, therefore differentiating your business from theirs.
